A nostalgic surreal feeling set in over the past several days. That’s happened to me before when I leave places for a long time. It makes one appreciate what they are leaving behind. I had perfect air and sea temperatures for my last day on the Crystal Coast for a while.
I’ve packed and packed some more, trimming all the fat from the packing lists for a short fishing trip and long biking trip that will soon test me.
I haven’t told my favorite mutt that I am leaving, and she doesn’t know that in 24 hours I’ll be over in Alaska in the land of big bears. But she will be looking for me every day til I get back from my ride for research. That’s a good feeling to know that man’s best friend is already eagerly awaiting my return.
